Step 1: Inspection
Every rug undergoes a thorough inspection process by our technicians to identify stains, discolorations, and any special requests from the customer. From the rug fibers and fringes to coloration and underpadding, everything is meticulously examined. The rugs are cataloged in our system with a special tag based on the type of material and size.
Step 2: Dusting
Proper dusting is one of the most crucial steps in rug cleaning. Without dusting, dust particles and allergens remain inside your rug even after washing and drying. Our computer-controlled dusting machine ensures all dust particles are effectively extracted.
Step 3: Pre-Treatment
Each rug is treated with safe and eco-friendly soap through the pre-soaking pool for one day. This process helps soften and break down dirt and dissolved minerals that cling to your rug over time.
Step 4: Deep Hand-Washing Service
While most Chicago companies rely on automated machines and damaging steam, we proudly provide a 100% deep hand-washing service.
We use an abundance of fresh water, eco-friendly shampoo, and ultra-soft brushes to gently clean your rug by hand. We meticulously wash the pile, back, and delicate fringes, safely targeting stubborn stains that machines miss.

Step 5: Spin Draining
Your rug is rolled up and then placed into our centrifuge machine. In the centrifuge, all the remaining water and moisture are completely drained from your rug, ensuring that each rug comes out with approximately 95% dryness.
Step 6: Drying
After spin draining, the rugs are immediately sent to our drying room to remove the water from the fibers. Leaving rugs moist for too long can cause color run and unwanted mold buildup. Our enclosed climate-controlled drying room is equipped with dehumidifiers and fans that create the most ideal ecosystem to properly dry your rugs.
Step 7: Final Inspection
After spending one day in the drying room, our technicians perform a final inspection to ensure quality control. Each rug is lightly airbrushed to recondition and remove loose fibers.
Once your rug is 100% approved, we hand-roll or expertly fold it on our professional winding table.
Step 8: Rug Delivery within 5 Miles
For a small fee, we offer delivery within 5 miles of our Cozy Rugs store. Please note that we provide doorstep delivery only and do not offer indoor placement or rug laying services.
